Store strips in their original vial, away from heat and humidity, and check the expiry date on the pack, strips lose accuracy after opening if not used within the printed timeframe. Not sure which strip fits your meter? Ask a pharmacist on WhatsApp before ordering.
Which Strips Fit Which Meter
OneTouch strips aren't interchangeable across product lines. Verio strips work only with Verio meters (including Verio Reflect); Ultra strips with Ultra and Ultra Plus meters; Select Plus strips with the Select Plus meter. Check the model printed on your meter, or the box it came in, before ordering — an incompatible strip simply won't read.
Getting an Accurate Reading
Wash and dry your hands before testing, as residue (including fruit juice or sugar) on the fingers is a common cause of falsely high readings. Insert the strip fully into the meter before applying blood, and use enough blood to fill the confirmation window on the first try — a second, top-up application can skew the result.
Refill Kits vs. Buying Separately
If you test regularly, a refill kit bundling 100 strips with 100 lancets works out cheaper per test than buying strips and lancets individually, and keeps you from running out of one while you still have the other.
Storage and Expiry
Keep strips in their sealed vial and close it promptly after removing one — humidity affects accuracy. Once opened, most OneTouch strip vials are good for a limited number of months even if the printed expiry is further out; check the vial for the specific window.
